Engineering firm cuts 74 jobs in Waterford
An engineering firm has announced 74 job cuts in the south east.
Honeywell Turbo Technologies is to lay off the staff from the its plant in Waterford.
The company, which manufactures engine boosting systems for passenger cars and commercial vehicles, is also introducing a reduced work schedule for the rest of this year.
Honeywell, which said the job losses are the result of a restructuring of its business in Waterford, has now begun discussions with its staff on a redundancy programme.
It will maintain 300 staff and said it remains committed to providing support to all employees.
