Irish passports to be revamped
The Government is to unveil a redesigned Irish passport.
The new passport will contain additional security features such as holograms or motifs on individual pages.
These will include recognisable locations such as the Cliffs of Moher, Rock of Cashel, the Aviva stadium and Samuel Beckett Bridge.
The cost of producing each passport is €7, which is half the current cost.
But it is unclear if the estimated €4m in savings will be passed on to those getting new passports.
