Former Small Firms Association director to head new state training body

The Minister for Education, Ruairi Quinn, has announced his intention to appoint Pat Delaney as the Chairperson of SOLAS.

SOLAS, the new state training agency, will be established in the coming weeks.

Mr Delaney has previously worked for IBEC and is a former director of the Small Firms Association.

Ruairi Quinn will now ask the Oireachtas Education and Social Protection Committee to approve the appointment.
