Talks on '13th month' bonus payment stop strike by EBS staff

A strike by EBS staff has been averted after union and management resolved outstanding issues in eleventh-hour talks.

The dispute concerns the non-payment by management in 2011 of a traditional Christmas bonus for non-managerial staff known as the "13th month".

Trade union Unite today announced that talks last night at the Labour Relations Commission between the union and EBS management were successful, and a date has been set for the payment of the outstanding amounts.
