Tánaiste calls on Trichet to give evidence at banking inquiry

The Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore has warned austerity hawks that Ireland will not be treated like an "economic experiment".

Mr Gilmore said the €3.1bn in Budget cuts for next year, demanded by the Troika, should be scaled back.
