Up to 2,000 people are taking part in a pilgrimage to Lourdes, where later tonight the Archbishop Diarmuid Martin will lead prayers for peace in Syria.

Pilgrims, medics and volunteers along with almost 140 secondary school students from 23 different schools left Dublin earlier today as part of the country’s largest pilgrimage to Lourdes.

Archbishop Martin will lead prayers at St. Bernadette’s Church in Lourdes tonight where pilgrims will pray for peace in Syria and across the world.
