The Food Safety Authority of Ireland has closed 15 food businesses across the country as a result of breaches of food safety regulations.

Closure Orders are served where it is deemed that "there is or there is likely to be a grave and immediate danger to public health at or in the premises".

The chief executive of the FSAI, Alan Reilly, has said that all of the breaches noted could have been avoided if proper food safety management systems had been in place.
