PSNI charge three on wheelie bin attack in Ballymena

Three people have been charged with attempted murder after a young man was found badly beaten and naked in a taped-up wheelie bin.

The two men and a woman are also accused of false imprisonment in connection with the attack in Ballymena, Co Antrim.

The bin containing the 20-year-old was found by a dog in a heavily wooded area near Sentry Hill.

The dog’s owner freed the man, who is understood to have suffered a broken leg and arm and was badly dehydrated.

The charged men, both aged 26, and the woman, 20, are due to appear at Ballymena Magistrates’ Court.

Another man arrested yesterday in relation to the incident has been released on bail pending further police inquiries.
