The Irish Patients Association has said the HSE needs to be held accountable for poor hygiene standards in hospitals.

The call comes on the back of reports published yesterday by the health watchdog, HIQA, which found that a number of hospitals around the country, including Dublin's Beaumont had fallen seriously short of basic hygiene guidelines.
