Books of condolence are due to be opened in Seamus Heaney's native Derry and in Belfast on Monday.

The poet, writer and Nobel Laureate died in Dublin yesterday, aged 74.

A requiem mass will take place at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Donnybrook on Monday morning and he will be buried in Derry.

Books of Condolence will be opened at Belfast City Hall and the Guild Hall in Derry.
