Auctioneers call for dedicated property council

Irish auctioneers are calling for a dedicated property council to be set up to oversee the future of the property industry.
The Institute of Professional Auctioneers and Valuers said a major crisis looms, particularly in Dublin following a shortage of rental accommodation.
With thousands of students due to arrive in the capital and major cities over the next few weeks, the IPAV is warning of a severe shortfall of accommodation in many areas.
The body said a detailed report would provide for the establishment of a National Property Council, including experts from relevant fields across the industry who would advise the government on developing trends.
