New Rose of Tralee to be crowned before day's end

The 2012 Rose of Tralee Nicola McEvoy will hand over her crown at the Festival Dome tonight.

This year's winner will be revealed just before half past eleven.

18 roses took to the stage last night while 14 more will be interviewed by host Daithi O'Se tonight.

"Definitely just make the year your own and put your own stamps on it," the 2012 Luxembourg Rose advised her successor.

"I know looking back at the other Roses of Tralee who have gone before, that you'd look up to them and say 'my god, I have to emulate that.'

"I was chosen because of who I am … make it her own."
