Women's Council calls for stability in child benefit payments

The National Women's Council of Ireland have said families are being "pushed to the brink" when it comes to household finances.

The group, who have launched their pre-budget submission this morning, are calling on the government not cut child benefit any further, calling it a critical part of a family income.
