The Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed it is offering assistance to the family of an Irish student who is feared drowned in the United States.

The Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed it is offering assistance to the family of an Irish student who drowned in the United States.

It is understood he got into difficulty while swimming in the Delaware River in Upstate New York on Saturday
