Major drugs seizure in Carlow

Cannabis with an estimated street value of €1.4m was discovered in Carlow today.

A result of a joint investigation involving the Garda National Drugs Unit, the Garda Organised Crime Unit along with Gardaí attached to the Carlow District and Customs Drug Enforcement Officers, saw a search carried out on a vehicle in the Carlow area this afternoon.

A man in his 40s was arrested at the scene and is currently detained at Carlow Garda Station under Section 2 – Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
