Gardaí stress normal road rules apply despite bus strike
Gardaí are reminding drivers of private cars that they are not permitted to use bus lanes despite the Dublin bus strike.
Authorities say normal bus rules apply, meaning only taxis, private bus operators, emergency services and cyclists are allowed use the lanes.
400,000 commuters face major travel disruption in the morning as industrial action continues into a third day.
The dispute centres around €12m worth of cost saving measures at the company.
The National Bus and Rail Union says its open to talks in order to call a halt to the strike but want reassurances regarding the salaries of bosses at the company.
