A man has been arrested after a petrol bomb was thrown at Killarney garda station.

A man has been arrested after a petrol bomb was thrown at Killarney garda station.

No one was injured after ignited container of petrol was thrown at the wall of the station at 7.15am this morning.

It led to a small fire outside the building, causing minor damage.

Gardaí put out the fire themselves and the building did not need to be evacuated.

A local man in his 20s was arrested by gardaí and remains in custody.

Gardaí say their investigation is ongoing, and they are in contact with the Director of Public Prosecutions.
