Man arrested in connection with Inchicore assault

Gardaí have arrested a man in connection with a serious assault in Inchicore last night.

A man in his 40s remains in a critical condition in hospital after being attacked at Tyrconnell Road just before half past nine.

A man in his 30s is being questioned at Kilmainham Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

Gardaí are still appealing to any witnesses to the incident to come forward.

They are anxious to speak to a taxi driver who picked up a man near the Golden Bridge Industrial Estate.

The driver was heading in the direction of the canal in a light-coloured Skoda Octavia, and gardaí hope he may be able to help them with their inquiries.
