Brothers dead before accident Gardaí believe

Gardaí are appealing for the public's help in tracing the movements of the car in which the bodies of two young brothers were discovered in Co Mayo.

The remains of 5 year-old Ruairi and 10 year-old Eoghan Chada were found in the boot of a green Ford Focus car, which crashed outside Westport.

They were last seen leaving their home in Bagnalstown in Co Carlow, in the company of their 43 year-old father Sanjeev, who was injured in the accident.

Gardaí believe the children died prior to the accident which happened shortly after 3pm.

Superintendent David Taylor from the Garda Press Office is asking anyone who saw the green Ford Focus registration 06 CW 238 to contact Gardaí.
