Lowry denies home raid was second visit to property

Michael Lowry has said reports that his home received a second visit from Revenue while he was out of the country last week are false.

The Irish Independent reported this morning that officials from the Revenue Office first visited the house last week, but the former Fine Gael Minister was out of the country at the time.

Deputy Lowry contacted Tipp FM to make a statement that he was not out of the country last week, and he did not receive any other visit from Revenue.

The raid which took place yesterday is linked to an investigation into the now-Independent TD's financial affairs.

A constituency office and another business premise in Dublin were also searched by officials, according to the Irish Examiner.

Gardaí were not involved in any of the searches.
