Body of woman recovered in Co Tyrone

The body of a woman has been found in Omagh, Co Tyrone, authorities have revealed.

The remains were discovered in the Drumquin area yesterday.

Police say they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.

Sean McCarry from the Community Rescue service said the recovery operation was a difficult one.

"We came across the remains of a person in the very heavily over grown undergrowth and wooded area," he said.

"That was a very detailed, organised search under the direction of the police working on a systemic programme of searching areas," he added.
