Ireland breaks Guinness World Record for longest Riverdance line

Ireland has broken the Guinness World Record for the longest ever Riverdance Line.

Almost 1,700 people from 44 countries took part in the record-breaking dance along the banks of the Liffey in Dublin this afternoon.

They were led by Jean Butler and around a hundred dancers from the current Riverdance troupe.

The previous record of 652 people dancing in a continuous line was held by Nashville, Tennessee.

The line stretched across the Samuel Beckett Bridge and along Dublin's quays.

The attempt is part of the Gathering Riverdance celebration and features dancers from all over the world.
