Separate farm accidents claim lives of two children

Two children have died in separate farm accidents.

A Health and Safety Authority inspector is expected at the scene of a fatal farm accident in Co Laois today, where a 9-year-old girl died after and incident in Ballacolla last Sunday.

She was brought to Temple St Children's hospital in Dublin, where she died yesterday.

The authority has also been notified about the death of a 14-year-old boy on a farm in Limerick.

It's understood the teenager was fatally injured just before 3pm yesterday when he was electrocuted at a farm in Kilmeady.

A post mortem examination will be carried out on his body at University Hospital Limerick.
