New weather alert for high temperatures issued for weekend
Met Eireann has issued a new heat alert for Ireland.
The weather service says the next few days will see temperatures reach up to thirty degrees.
Temperatures will reach values between 27 and 30 degrees in many areas for the next two days.
Nights will be warm and humid as well.
The status yellow alert is in place until Sunday.
Local authorities around the country are also asking people to conserve water.
In Donegal, water restrictions are in place in the Stranorlar and Glenties Electoral Areas due to a reduced water supply.
People are asked to avoid using hospipes on gardens, paddling pools, or car washing where possible as the dry spell continues.
