Arrangements are being made to repatriate the body of a young Irish man who died in a motorcycle accident in Australia.

28-year old Keith Rigney from Westport, Co Mayo died after he came off his motorbike in a rural area of Darwin yesterday morning.

It's understood Keith, a construction worker, was on his way to work at about 6.30 am Australian time, when his bike collided with another vehicle on Thorngate Road, and he was thrown from the bike.

He died on arrival at the Royal Darwin Hospital.

His older brother Vincent also died as a result of a motorbike collision in Mayo almost 12 years ago.
