Man dies in Louth road accident

A man aged in his 20s has died in a car crash in Co Louth today.

It happened during the early hours of this morning on the Bog Road at Townspark in Ardee.

Gardaí say they were notified of the crash at around 7am this morning.

The driver, who was the only person in the car at the time, was pronounced dead at the scene and taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.

The road is currently closed for forensic and technical examination.
