Louth woman shot in the foot

A 20-year-old woman has been shot in the foot in Co Louth.

The shooting happened around 5pm in Dundalk.

Gardaí are investigating the circumstances of the incident at Maple Drive on the Maple Close Estate.

The woman was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, where her injuries were described as non-life threatening.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses.
