€2.2k in counterfeit alcohol seized

Officers from Revenue’s Customs Service seized approximately 100 litres of counterfeit spirits, a large quantity of wine and the distributor’s vehicle during a planned operation in Dundalk On Wednesday.

The alcohol carried a potential loss to the exchequer of €2,200.

A middle aged man from Dundalk was intercepted by Customs Officers and investigations are ongoing.

A file is being prepared for the DPP.
