Concert goers advised to leave drink at home as security ramped up

Promoters advise concert goers to leave their drink at home but have a good time.

That is the message from the promoters of this evening's Justin Timberlake gig in the Phoenix Park.

There has already been one casualty tonight, Jessie J has had to pull out because of illness.

GardaĂ are warning people not to drink too much if they are attending tonight's Justin Timberlake gig in the Phoenix Park..

"We have patrols that deal with any matter that comes up," said Chief Superintendent Declan Coburn

Security has been ramped up for tonight's concert following trouble at last year's Swedish house mafia gig which saw six people stabbed.

"We will be working very closely with the gardaĂ in respect of searching for alcohol, drugs or weapons," said Melvin Benn from promoters Festival Republic.

Meanwhile residents in the area will be able to pick up the phone to report any trouble that may happen.

Jessie J fans will be disappointed however as she has to pull out because of illness.

The Coronas are stepping up to the plate - joining James Arthur on stage from 6.30pm.
