Man remanded in custody over €143k drugs seizure at Dublin airport

A man has been remanded in custody in connection with a drugs seizure at Dublin airport.

Over two kilos of cocaine - worth an estimated €143,000 - was recovered when a 22-year-old Irish national was stopped and searched by the Revenue Customs Service after arriving from Sao Paulo in Brazil last Saturday.

The drugs were found in two plastic sleeves, concealed in two separate linings of a briefcase.

The man is due to appear before Cloverhill District Court again next Monday.
