Gardaí continue crackdown on new IRA Alliance in Dublin

Extensive searches are continuing in Dublin today as part of a major crackdown on suspected members of the New IRA Alliance.

It follows the arrest of a 46-year-old man on Wednesday following the discovery of a pipebomb in Cloughran.

A number of additional searches were carried out in the area yesterday and 10 kilogrammes of what is believed to be high-grade explosives were found.

Garda sources say the operation is still ongoing and extended searches are continuing today.
