Irish Euromillions player wins almost €94m

An Irish player has won a share of last night's Euromillions jackpot of almost €188m.

The lucky player will share the €187,937,614 pot with a Belgian player.

It is the biggest Irish lottery win in Euromillions since 2005, when Limerick resident Dolores McNamara scooped €115m.

Last night's winner comes close. Presuming they are individuals, the two winners will come away with €93,968,807 each.

A spokesperson for the National Lottery said they had no idea as to the identity of the lucky winner at this early stage.

However, they are reminding the ticket holder that the prize must be claimed within 90 days.

It can be redeemed at the National Lottery headquarters on Dublin's Abbey Street.
