Calling all Clares - time to break a world record

If your name is Clare you're being urged to head to Co Clare (where else?) this weekend to help break a world record.

An attempt is being made in Ennis to break the world record for having the most people in one area with the same first name.

Organisers are hoping to beat the world record set by 1,096 Mohammeds in Dubai in February 2005.

The previous record for a same-name gathering was created by 375 Marias in Spain in 2003.

The event is to take place in Ennis Cathedral between 1-3 pm on Sunday, and all Clares, Claires and Clairs are welcome.
