Eight year sentence for man found guilty of Stephen O'Meara manslaughter

A man has been jailed for the manslaughter of Stephen O’Meara.

The victim was 26 when he was reported missing in August 2009, and his body was found in the Wicklow Mountains over three years ago.

Clement Byrne of Clonattin Village, Gorey, Co. Wexford admitted killing the father of three at Redcross in Co. Wicklow in 2009.

The 49-year-old has been sentenced to eight years in prison
