Quinn urges students to relax ahead of next exam

The Education Minister said that he hopes students are happy with how the first day of exams went.

Ruairi Quinn was speaking as students digest the first of the Leaving and Junior Cert papers.

More than 116,000 pupils began their exams this morning with English Paper One.

Minister Quinn is urging students to take a little time out this evening before day two tomorrow.

"They have had two years of study it's all in their head they're not going to shove any more into their head," he said.

"Give their head a rest so that the stuff that is already in there can come out when they start looking for it

"I feel if they are fresh, if they have got a good nights sleep, eat well and not junk food and go and do the next exam."
