Clare man awaits murder appeal verdict

A Co Clare man will find out today if he has won an appeal against his conviction for the murder of his neighbour.

Brendan O’Sullivan shot Leslie Kenny in the garden of his home at O'Gorman Street, Kilrush on July 29, 2009.

The court heard his neighbour had 82 previous convictions and had made threats against Brendan O'Sullivan's daughters and his property.

The Court of Criminal Appeal will today hand down its decision as to whether the issues of self defence and manslaughter were properly explained to the jury at the trial.
