Govt 'to press ahead' with alcohol sports sponsorship ban

The Department of Health is understood to be pressing ahead with plans to ban drinks companies from sponsoring sporting events.

According to The Sunday Times, Junior Minister Alex White has circulated plans which will ban all alcohol sponsorship of major sports by 2020 - and new contracts within the next three years.
