Bus Éireann to implement new cuts from June

Bus Éireann will implement newly agreed cost-cutting measures from June 1.
It is after the NBRU and SIPTU voted to accept a restructuring plan, which was brokered at the Labour Relations Commission.
Bus Éireann said that the move will bring stability to the company and protect jobs.
Earlier this month, workers staged a two-day strike in protest at proposed cuts.
Company spokesperson Andrew McAlindon said the plan - which will achieve €5m in savings - should mean future strike action is avoided.
"The fact that the vast majority of our staff have voted in favour of the agreement, which is the last 19 months, will bring much needed stability to the company," he said
"It should protect the viability of the company and deliver the savings that are required to protect the future of the company."
