Kenny remains tight-lipped on comment by Vatican official

The Taoiseach said that he has "no comment to make" after a senior Vatican official said any member of the Oireachtas describing themselves as a Catholic should resign rather than support the legislation.
In the Irish Catholic newspaper Monsignor Jacques Suaudeau compared Fine Gael's use of the party whip in introducing abortion laws to the defence used by Nazi soldiers.
He likened the claim by the Taoiseach and others that they are just doing their duty to the defence at the Nuremberg trials.
This afternoon Enda Kenny would not be drawn on the comments.
"My job is as head of government is to deal with our constitution and our laws," he said.
"I'm a catholic and I don't interfere in the messages from the church, I have no comment to make."
