Gardaí continue to question man in Coolock murder probe
A man in his early 40s has been held overnight by gardaí investigating the murder of 23-year-old Dean Fitzpatrick.
It is being reported that the man handed himself in to Coolock Garda Station at around 11.30am on Sunday morning, was intervied for several hours.
He was then formally arrested under the Criminal Justice Act, which means he can be questioned for 24 hours.
Mr Fitzpatrick died on Saturday night, after he was stabbed several times at an apartment on the Malahide Road shortly before 11.30pm.
Gardaí say an altercation had taken place prior to the knife attack.
The victim is the brother of Amy Fitzpatrick, the 15-year-old girl who went missing in Spain in 2008.
Gardaí have appointed a liaison officer to help the Fitzpatrick family.
