New Cork life boat station to cut launch time in half
Life boat volunteers have said the development of a new, purpose-built, life boat station in County Cork will cut the service's launch time in half.
Castletownbere RNLI will officially open its new lifeboat station this afternoon which will include a service of dedication ceremony.
It is hoped the new building and facilities will greatly enhance the operational capability of the service.
The lifeboat crew moved into the new station late last year after spending 15 years in temporary accommodation.
