Customs save Exchequer €1.75m in closure of diesel operation
Investigations are continuing after custom officers discovered and closed a diesel-laundering operation in Dublin last night.
The operation was located in an industrial estate in Blanchardstown.
Revenue sources said it was a major find, using 'cat litter' to filter the diesel.
It is estimated a loss of around €1.75m to the Exchequer was prevented by the intelligence sting operation.
No one was arrested but investigations are ongoing.
