Investigation underway after body of man discovered in Cork
Gardaí in Cork have begun an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a man's body in a flat in the city this evening.
The body of the man was found in a flat on Bachelors Quay at around 6.30pm.
Gardaí have cordoned off the scene to allow garda technical experts carry out a forensic examination as gardaí carry out preliminary inquiries in the area.
Gardaí have not yet identified the man.
The assistant State Pathologist, Dr Margaret Bolster has arrived at the scene and has begun an examination on the remains.
