Education Minister invites applications for patronage of new schools

The Education Minister has invited applications for the patronage of eight new post-primary schools.

Ruairi Quinn said patronage of the schools - three in Dublin, two in Cork and one each in Cavan, Kildare and Wicklow - will depend on the preferences of local parents.

The schools, which are due to open in 2015 and 2016, will serve 6,600 students and form part of the Government's €2bn capital investment plan.
