Bus Éireann says it is open to talks aimed at averting Sunday's planned strike action.

Earlier, the National Bus and Rail Union said the time for talking is now because there is no telling how long the strike could last.

Management at the firm say they are always open to dialogue but warned that overtime and premium payments need to be cut.

Bus Éireann spokesman Andrew McLindon says the unions are yet to put forward any viable alternative.
