Two jailed after undercover garda operation
Two men have been jailed in an undercover garda operation despite forgetting to collect money for the drugs they sold.
The pair pleaded guilty this afternoon at the Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
27-year-old Karl Fish from Ashgrove, the Coombe introduced an undercover garda to 23 -year-old Declan Tynan from Vincent Street Flats in March two years ago.
Mr Tynan then supplied €500 of heroin to the garda but forgot to take any money for the drugs.
Fish told gardaí he had got involved because he "hadn't a shilling" and it was "an easy 100 quid".
Today the pair pleaded guilty to the supply of a controlled drug and Mr Tynan also pleaded guilty to possession of heroin on the same occasion.
Judge Mary Ellen Ring imposed a two and half year sentence on Fish, labelled as a facilitator by his defence, and a two year sentence on Tynan.
The final 18 months of both sentences were suspended and Judge Ring imposed 12 months probation supervision.
