Further job losses prevented as B&Q Ireland exits examinership

B&Q Ireland is to exit examinership, a move which is set to save 640 jobs.
The High Court has today approved an investment plan in the home improvement store group.
Under the scheme, B&Q's parent group Kingfisher is to invest more than €2.4m.
The money will allow for eight stores around the country to continue trading - along with the retention of the 640 jobs.
Last week, B&Q's Waterford store ceased trading as part of the plan, with the loss of 47 jobs.
