Gardaí question man in connection with drugs seizure

A man is still in garda custody this morning following his arrest yesterday over a significant drugs seizure in Dublin.

Cannabis herb worth around €750,000 was found in the back of a van following a search on Victoria Quay yesterday morning.

The suspect, who is in his late 30s, is being questioned at Bridewell Garda Station, where he can be held for up to seven days.

Meanwhile gardaí have yet to make any arrests after uncovering a cache of weapons in west Dublin yesterday.

They are investigating the find of three rifles, a revolver, two shotguns and a large amount of ammunition during the search of a house in the Kilclare area of Tallaght.

A technical examination has been carried out at the scene but no arrests have yet been made.
