Corr served court order over €1.4m bank debt

Jim Corr has been ordered to appear before the Commercial Court over a €1.4m debt to ACC bank.

The Dundalk musician is to be cross examined next month by the bank's lawyers who say they have been trying to enforce a judgment against him from two years ago.

Jim Corr is best known as a member of family folk-pop group The Corrs, though his conspiracy theories on topics such as 9/11, swine flu and the American military have also received widespread media coverage.

Now it is his business dealings that are centre stage.

In February 2011 he consented to a €1.4m summary judgment order against him in favour of ACC bank over a loan issued to him and others in 2004 to buy lands in Co Kilkenny.

The bank's lawyers say they have been trying to enforce the judgment and today secured permission to cross examine Jim Corr on May 15.

The 48 year old has also lost his legal team who have come off record claiming they have been unable to obtain adequate instructions.
