Female IRA assassin jailed for life

Female IRA assassin, Rose Lynch has been jailed for life for the murder of David Darcy in Ballyfermot two years ago.

For the second time, the 50 year-old from Oakleigh Wood in Limerick shouted "Tiocfaidh ár lá" as she was led from court.

The sentence hearing was told Lynch wrongly believed her victim was responsible for the death of a member of the Continuity IRA.

In imposing a life sentence on the Limerick woman, the court described David Darcy as an innocent victim of an appalling crime.

Ms Justice Elizabeth Dunne noted Lynch had not shown any single expression of remorse for the calculated and cold-blooded murder.
